Waves of tsunami 

 A tsunami  in the indian ocean brings widespread catastrophe 

  Horror swept across the rim of the indian ocean when a tsunami  (a massive tidal wave ) brought death and destruction to the coastal settlement in it's path. 

The devastating tsunami travelling at nearly 500 miles per hour was the biggest seen in forty years. The total death toll was estimated at around 200000.

The catastrophe shocked the world and within six months  $12 billion in aid has been pledged to the victims.

    Chinnamuttom ( சின்னமுட்டம்;  ) is a special-grade village in Kanyakumari District  in the state of Tamil nadu in India . The name comes from Tamil word Muttu (முட்டு = Edge). Chinnamuttom is at the southernmost point of the indian Subcontinent.  The nearest town is Kanyakumari, a special-grade township and an international tourist spot 1.5 km (1 mi) away. Nagercoil, the administrative headquarters of Kanyakumari District, is 24 km
